OVERVIEW

  • Direct and perform the shipping, receiving, warehousing, internal movement and staging of new equipment, software, supplies, and parts for all departments. Reports to the Controller.

GENERAL DUTIES

  • Perform receiving and warehousing of new equipment, parts and supplies.
  • Use IT systems to monitor and manage par levels of stock inventory and initiate order requests as necessary.
  • Set up and perform initial staging of equipment for installations.
  • Coordinate shipment of equipment for installation to other locations using vendor Web interfaces where possible.
  • Prepare and document the daily shipment of supplies.
  • Prepare documents and ship all RMA and warranty repairs.
  • Assist in the research and procurement of new items and products.
  • Coordinate transfers of parts and equipment to and from inventory as needed by various departments for fulfillment of service and or installations.
  • Perform monthly, quarterly and yearly inventory.
  • Responsible for warehouse management and general building needs.

SPECIAL SKILLS

  • Knowledge of basic hand tools, high mechanical aptitude, logical and analytical thinker.
  • IT literate and ability to process electronic data. Typing/keyboard computing skills of 35+ wpm.
  • Systematic organizational skills and detailed record keeping.
  • Excellent listener and note taker for gaining a clear understanding of the priorities and needs of others.
  • Good planning, organization and the time management.
  • Be flexible, work quickly and efficiently to meet deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Be in good general health.
  • Must be able to lift, move and carry medium to heavy weight up to 85 lbs.
  • Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned warehouse for periods during the summer weather.
  • Climb ladders, lift weight to various heights.
  • Requires a valid driver’s license with good driving record.

AVAILABILITY TO WORK WHAT HOURS

  • Should be available for normal working hours of 8:00 to 5:00 Monday through Friday. Some early morning, evenings and weekend work will be necessary to meet the required deadlines. Must be able to perform the necessary monthly, quarterly and annual inventories as necessary during the last few days of the month.

TRAINING NEEDED

  • Intermediate computing, technical, electronics or several years of practical on the job experience. Prior experience shipping and receiving with major air, ground and truck lines. Experience with inventory control and loss prevention. Minor building maintenance skills helpful.

KNOWLEDGE NEEDED

  • General knowledge of the components of a computer system and how to assemble components. Knowledge and understanding of various shipping methods, and how to deal with damage and losses. Have the ability and knowledge to keep precise documentation for inventory balancing and loss prevention.

ADDITIONAL NEEDS

  • Prior experience working with inventory important. Must be highly organized and very attentive to minor details. Possess the ability to handle multiple tasks and handle deadlines.
